Design for sport
Design breakthroughs in products for sport are, it seems, a very closely guarded secret, in a cut-throat and competitive marketplace involving some powerful players. After diving deep to find the design stories behind some of the world's biggest brands in sport, the design directors at Speedo and Billabong reveal some of their successful design strategies.

Lighting the way
Philips recently announced the appointment of Rogier van der Heide to the newly created position of chief design officer for Philips Lighting. Van der Heide's fresh perspective, coupled with his twenty years of experience in design-led innovation and the creation of lighting solutions, is set to light the way forward
for the company.

Sleep easy
Mark Bertinetti, senior industrial designer at ResMed Ltd talks about the recently released S9™ Series CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) device. "The S9 has made significant innovations in design, quality and comfort that are important to patients and make the therapy more comfortable and less intimidating to use," says Bertinetti.
