Alexandra Korndörfer BMW’s International head of colour and trim design for M models and Individual vehicles talks about her work and trends in automotive interiors. She talks about the emergence of white as a new interior colour direction at BMW and explains how new stitching details have been developed.

Korban/Flaubert’s suspended ceiling sculpture is one of a series of thematically linked projects. Constructed from electropolished welded stainless steel, it has four diaphanous wings and winds along the ceiling. The precisely sequenced structure generates playful interferrence patterns and beautiful shadows at night.

Designers at Taiwan’s first ever Design Week give us a taste of things to come, while referencing the past. Working with forms inspired by nature, ceramic tableware is soft and organic. The traditional bench seat is transformed with care and consideration into furniture pieces that are mobile, while others fold and adapt to create high backed seating options.
