Belinda Stening – publisher
and editor
Belinda founded Curve in 2001. She is the publisher
and managing editor. Belinda is a professional
industrial designer with many years of experience
in industrial design consulting and manufacturing.
She has a bachelor degree in industrial design
and a masters degree in sculpture. |

Brigitte
Barta – consulting editor
Brigitte is a freelance writer and editor with
over ten years’ experience in publishing, both
in Australia and the US. She has a degree in media
studies and a graduate diploma in publishing and
editing. |

Yung – art director
Debra has an honours degree in graphic design
and a diploma in photography. She has worked as
a freelance photographer and graphic designer
in the small business, corporate and higher education
sectors. |

Jonathon Allen
Jonathon Allen is an associate professor of industrial design and associate head of the School of Engineering at the University of Western Sydney. He has a BA (Hons) in industrial design and technology and a PhD in industrial design and has held academic posts in the UK, New Zealand and Australia. Jon’s research interests include new and emerging materials and technologies; design's role in addressing social and environmental concerns; and augmenting people's capabilities through perceptive design. |

Michael
Bogle
Michael is a historian specialising in the history
of design in Australia. He is the author of Designing
Australia: Readings in the History of Design,
2002. Michael has worked as a museum curator for
the Historic Houses Trust of NSW, Sydney. He is
currently researching the life of Arthur Baldwinson
(1908-1969), the designer of the prefabricated
steel Beaufort Home produced by the Beaufort aircraft
works at Fisherman’s Bend, in Melbourne. |

Tessa is a freelance design journalist and photographer
based in Europe. She has worked for design publications
in Europe and Australia. |

Fox
Kathy is an industrial designer working in the
museum and exhibition design field. She has a
research-based master’s degree in design, has
worked in the commercial furniture sector developing
furniture and homeware products for small batch
production. |

John
Gertsakis
John Gertsakis is a Senior Sustainability Associate with WSP Environmental in Australia. He works across a range of product-oriented environmental areas including Design for Sustainability, product stewardship strategy and environmental communications. He consults to a diverse range of clients in commercial furniture, consumer electronics, business imaging, textiles and flooring. John is also the executive officer of Product Stewardship Australia Ltd, an industry association developing take-back schemes for end-of-life consumer electronics. He has also spent considerable time as a research academic and was the head of RMIT University’s Centre for Design (2001- 04) where he continues his involvement as a research associate. John’s new blog on design, sustainability and eco-fatigue will be launched in July 2008. |

David is the national president of the Design
Institute of Australia. He is a passionate advocate
of improved professional standards for the design
industry and greater unity in the design sector
for a stronger industry voice. |

Laura
Traldi
Laura Traldi is a freelance journalist, specialising
in design. She is a regular contributor to the
Italian magazines Interni, Interni Panorama Magazine
and Flair. She writes on an ad hoc basis for other
publications. She is the author of a book, published
by Abitare Segesta in 2005, on the work of Stefano
Marzano, the head designer of electronics giant
Philips, with whom she worked for six years and
for whom she has edited several design books.
Her articles have been published in international
design magazines such as Form, De Architect and
How to spend it Deutschland, the magazine of the
German Financial Times. She has been a regular
contributor to Curve since its Launch. Laura lives
in Italy with her husband Robert and her two children. |
